The People’s Money

Voting has started for The People’s Money, NYC’s first-ever citywide participatory budgeting (PB) process! The Bronx Defenders Community Engagement team, alongside our partners The BLOC, Mott Haven Reformed Church, DreamYard, FEC Mott Haven Melrose, Highbridge Advisory Council, Urban Dove Charter School, is taking to the streets in support of The People’s Money.

The Bronx Defenders are bringing together community members and organizations to make sure our voices are heard. All New Yorkers age 11 and up, regardless of immigration status, have the opportunity to decide how to spend $5 million of mayoral expense funding on projects in their community.  Additionally, residents will be able to vote on neighborhood projects, including South Bronx neighborhood Mott Haven and Mellrose.
