Patricia Becerril earned a Masters in Criminal Justice from Monroe College with a concentration in Human Service in 2015. While at Monroe, Patricia was a Criminal Defense Paralegal II at the Legal Aid Society in the Bronx. Soon after graduating, she flourished in her role as a Court Liaison with Brooklyn Justice Initiatives, an operating court project of the Center for Court Innovation. As a Court Liaison, Patricia played an integral part across all four court programs, most notably in AP-8, where she was the primary point of contact for her clients, defense attorneys and district attorneys. Her involvement with the Center’s alternative to incarceration programs enhanced her passion to advocate for people who are disproportionately impacted by the criminal justice system. She continues to be a member of the National Criminal Justice Honors Society and plans to pursue a J.D. Patricia is a Bronx native and speaks Spanish.
