Get Involved
The Bronx Defenders is powered by people—defenders, advocates, organizers, and supporters—working together to make sure every New Yorker gets the defense they deserve. Whether you give time, talent, or resources, your support fuels the fight for justice.
Donate
Fuel the Fight
Every dollar goes directly to defending families, protecting rights, and challenging injustice. Your gift makes sure no one in the Bronx faces the legal system alone.
Volunteer
Show Up for the Bronx
We welcome volunteers with a range of skills to support our work—from event support to outreach and beyond. Whether you’re Bronx-based or from afar, there’s a role for you.
Pro Bono
Lend Your Legal Expertise
Our pro bono partners have worked with The Bronx Defenders to file complaints in federal court, litigate hearings, co-counsel trials, file and argue appeals, research novel areas of law, and spearhead large scale projects impacting major areas of law and policy. We are always looking to create partnerships with law firms that will achieve better outcomes for the people we represent and transform the legal system.

Events
Gather, Celebrate, Organize
Our events bring together allies, advocates, and Bronx community members to build power and raise awareness. From our annual gala to policy briefings and reentry clinics, there’s always a way to connect.
2026 ANNUAL GALA
NOVEMBER 10, 6:00PM AT THE GARDEN TERRACE ROOM AT THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN
This year, we will be honoring Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP and Joseph Sorkin, Galaxy Gives Leader Fellowship, and Alana Sivin — exceptional partners who are pursuing justice without exception through their unwavering commitment to the communities we work with and the people we represent.
We hope you will join us for an evening honoring these partners and help us sustain the relentless advocacy our neighbors deserve.
