Claire Urban
Claire received her J.D. from Boston College Law School. Prior to coming to the Bronx Defenders, she was an acting supervisor and a law clerk in the Immigration Unit of the Staff Attorney’s Office at the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, where she provided judges with substantive legal analysis and proposed orders in cases raising a wide range of immigration issues. During law school, Claire represented clients through the Boston College Immigration and Asylum Project, served as a board member of the Public Interest Law Foundation, and was an editor of the Environmental Affairs Law Review. She worked at Joyce & Associates assisting clients apply for visas, adjust status, and appeal denials of relief; spent a summer as a law clerk at the Boston Immigration Court; and interned at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under the Law. Before law school, Claire was a research analyst for 1199 SEIU.
