Chazley Gonzalez received her B.A. in Criminal Justice at Monroe College. While attending Monroe College, she was on the President and dean’s list. She graduated in 2008 and then worked as a New York City Correction Officer on Rikers Island for five years. While there she was responsible for 120 high profile men in solitary confinement and the high security housing areas. While working as a Correctional Officer, she saw many things that she wanted to change within the criminal and family justice system. She is also interested in helping her own community. She wants to help her community with the struggles that up hold in the family justice system. While working at the Bronx Defenders, her goal is to be the voice for the Bronx community by advocating on there behalf by any means necessary. She is bilingual in Spanish and English.
