Shlomit Cohen

Shlomit received her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif. She comes to The Bronx Defenders as a 2014 Kirkland & Ellis Fellow. While in law school, Shlomit represented parents in neglect and termination of parental rights cases through the NYU Family Defense Clinic. Her work in the clinic earned her the Ann Petluck Poses prize for outstanding work in a clinical practice. Shlomit also participated in the Advanced Family Defense Clinic, where she focused on reforming child welfare policy. Shlomit spent her 1L summer interning with the Urban Justice Center’s Safety Net Project, and her 2L summer at the New York Legal Assistance Group’s Housing Project. Shlomit graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University, where she received both a B.A. and M.A. in Jewish Law.
