Shanée Brown


Shanée is a South Bronx native with a background in public interest work. Prior to joining The Bronx Defenders, she served as a pro bono trial attorney for The Children’s Law Center where she represented children in Family Court and Integrated Domestic Violence Court in Queens. She most recently worked as an immigration attorney with the Safe Passage Project. Born and raised in New York City, Shanée attended Marymount School of New York. She received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College and her J.D. from Touro Law Center. During her time in college, Shanée pursued an interdisciplinary course of study where she took classes in the the humanities, the visual arts, and the sciences. She presented at science poster sessions on campus and played on the women’s tennis team. As a law student, she participated in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, served as a teaching assistant, and conducted research in support of a dean’s publication, which focused on family violence. Shanée is honored and excited to join the Family Defense Practice!
