Shakeer Rahman

As a Skadden Foundation fellow in the Impact Litigation Practice, Shakeer helps Bronx residents challenge systemic inequities in how they are policed. Before joining The Bronx Defenders, Shakeer clerked for Judge Beverly Martin on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta and for Justice Mariano-Florentino Cuéllar on the California Supreme Court. During law school, Shakeer interned at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, The Bronx Defenders, and the Federal Public Defender office in Oregon. Shakeer has written about policing for the Harvard Law Review, the New York Times, Al Jazeera America, Dissent Magazine, and the London Review of Books blog. He received a JD from Harvard Law School in 2015 and a BA from Columbia University in 2009.
