Nayantara Bhushan graduated cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 2015. Before joining The Bronx Defenders, she was a special education attorney at School Justice Project in Washington, D.C. representing young adults accused of crimes. During law school, she was a student attorney in Georgetown’s Criminal Defense and Prisoner Advocacy Clinic representing adults accused of misdemeanors and parole violations. She interned at the public defenders’ offices in San Francisco, California and Alexandria, Virginia. She also was a member of the Barristers’ Council Appellate Advocacy Division and the winner of the 2013 Greenhalgh Trial Advocacy Competition. She graduated with Honors in History from the University of California, Berkeley in 2011.
