Kate graduated from Middlebury College in 2015 with a B.A. in Political Science and Education. At Middlebury, Kate was a co-founder and facilitator of JusTalks, a mandatory program for freshmen dedicated to discussing issues of identity, power, and privilege. She also spent time organizing with the Vermont Workers’ Center and tutoring in local elementary schools. Kate completed her senior research on the discriminatory impacts of traditional, punitive models of school discipline, and how to support teachers in challenging the school-to-prison pipeline. After graduating, Kate worked as an AmeriCorps member with City Year, serving as a classroom assistant, tutor, and after school program manager at a middle school in the Bronx. She speaks French.
