Julia Deutsch

As an Attorney in the Criminal Defense Practice, Julia represents individuals charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses in the Bronx Criminal Courts. Julia has been dedicated to advocating on behalf of the criminally accused since 2004 when she began working as a paralegal at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. She attended law school in 2007 in order to become a public defender, receiving her J.D. degree in 2010 from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco. During law school she completed internships at public defender offices, received a Certificate of Specialization in Criminal Litigation, was a regional semifinalist at the 2010 National Mock Trial Competition, and received honors awards in Trial Advocacy, Practical Legal Writing, Legal Writing & Research, and Evidence. She has been a volunteer trial attorney with the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office, worked with seasoned criminal defense attorneys on a variety of serious cases, and started her own criminal defense practice. Most recently, she was a deputy public defender in a semi-rural area of California’s central valley. Finally, Julia returned to her family roots – the Bronx, where her parents and grandparents were born and raised – to continue protecting and defending the rights of the indigent.
