Ivan Bohorquez


Ivan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Manhattan College in 2016.  He earned his B.A in International Studies with a concentration in Latin America and the Caribbean, and minored in Philosophy and Psychology.  He is an alumnus of the Higher Education Opportunity Program (H.E.O.P).  Ivan was inducted into academic honor societies Sigma Iota Rho, Phi Sigma Tau, and Epsilon Sigma Phi. Ivan was also a member of the 86th Class of Pen and Sword, and received the Harold E. Hazelton Humanities Medal for his deep commitment to humanities and contributions to campus life. Through experiences such as founding a Latinx Student Organization, volunteering to help rebuild homes in New Orleans, visiting Cuba and studying  race relations and the LGBTQ community, and leading cultural immersion trips to Arizona and Mexico, Guatemala, and Homestead, Florida, Ivan has developed interest in matters pertaining to diversity, race, immigration, and social justice.
