Dawit received his J.D from CUNY School of Law where he was a Graduate Fellow. While at CUNY, Dawit represented individuals charged with crimes in Queens County as a student attorney through the Defenders Clinic and participated in CUNY’s CLEAR project. Dawit spent his 1L summer at the New York Civil Liberties Union and his 2L summer at the Center for Constitutional Rights, where he was an Ella Baker Fellow and a recipient of the Gregory H. Finger Racial Justice Fellowship. Prior to law school, Dawit was the Associate Director of Policy and Community Development at The Bronx Defenders. Dawit received his B.A. from Columbia University.
