Darnell (He, him, his) is a Staten Island native and Williams College graduate, where he majored in Political Science and spent a year abroad living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Soon after graduation, Darnell began working on the frontlines of indigent advocacy at Brooklyn Legal Services, juggling competing demands, and priorities to achieve successful results for Brooklyn families in crisis. He was tasked with securing a retirement income for pensioners, saving homes in danger of foreclosure, and clearing the names of childcare providers wrongly accused of abuse and maltreatment. Darnell also had the privilege of establishing Brooklyn Legal Services’ Suspension Representation Project to defend students accused of misconduct from long-term suspension and further contact with the criminal justice system. He hopes to pursue his J.D. and is excited to continue his public interest legal career at the Bronx Defenders.
