Caitlin York received her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law. During law school she participated in Berkeley Law’s Death Penalty Clinic and the East Bay Community Law Center’s Youth Defender Clinic. She was awarded the Sax Prize for Clinical Advocacy Honorable Mention for her clinic work. Caitlin also taught Know Your Rights trainings in juvenile hall and participated in restorative justice roundtables at San Quentin prison. During her summers, Caitlin interned for the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia and the Colorado State Public Defender’s Denver office. Caitlin spent one semester externing with The Bronx Defenders. Before law school Caitlin worked as a paralegal for the Federal Defenders of New York. Caitlin received a B.A. in Latin American Studies from Yale University. She is fluent in Spanish.
