Bardia received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law where he was a Merit Scholar. During law school, he volunteered at Shelter Legal Services, represented clients through the Poverty Law Clinic and the Parole Clinic, and was a member of the Society for Restorative Justice and the National Lawyers Guild. Bardia also interned with the Honorable Judge Robert L. Levy of U.S. District Court for Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn and at Altshuler Berzon L.L.P. in San Francisco. Prior to law school he was an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer at Project Enterprise in Harlem. Bardia holds a B.A. in International Political Economy from Fordham University in the Bronx.
