Avinash Samarth received his J.D. from Yale Law School. While at Yale, he chaired the Clinical Student Board and the Yale Civil Rights Project, and served as a senior editor for the Yale Law and Policy Review, as well as an editor for the Yale Journal of Law and Technology. He participated in multiple clinics at Yale, including the Media Freedom and Information Access Clinic, the Educational Opportunity and Juvenile Justice Clinic, and the Criminal Justice Clinic, which he co-chaired. During law school, he interned with the Federal Defenders of New York – EDNY and The Bronx Defenders. Prior to law school, he worked for the American Civil Liberties Union as a paralegal and legal assistant for multiple divisions, including the National Security Project, the Project on Speech, Privacy and Technology, and the Human Rights Program. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with honors.
