Annie Carney graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law, where she was a Sinsheimer Service Scholar within the Root-Tilden-Kern program. At NYU, Annie participated in two year-long clinics: the Criminal Defense and Community Reentry Clinic and the Juvenile Defender Clinic. She spent her summers interning with the Bronx Defenders’ Family Defense Practice and the Mecklenburg County Public Defender’s Office in Charlotte, NC. Annie was an Intake Manager and advocate for the Suspension Representation Project and a co-leader of the NYU Defender Collective. Before law school, Annie taught high school English for four years in Helena, Arkansas and Newark, NJ. Annie graduated cum laude from Yale University.
