Amanda received her J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 2015, with a specialization in Critical Race Studies. In law school, she was an Articles Editor of the UCLA Law Review and published a Comment titled “The Courtroom as White Space: Racial Performance as Noncredibility.” Amanda has interned with Legal Aid NY’s Prisoners’ Rights Project, L.A. Civil Rights attorney Carol Sobel, and the Promise of Justice Initiative in New Orleans. Before joining the Fair Punishment Project, Amanda clerked for Judge Harry Pregerson on the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is committed to prisoners’ rights and prison abolition, and anti-racist and social justice movement lawyering.
